I picked up my assistant Laura yesterday from Maun and am letting her get used to camp and generally being in Africa. We were at university together, so I am sure that everything will go smoothly with us working together
My collared buff have not moved much since the darting. One of the ones in NG32 has moved up past Stanley's and is now on Chief's Island. However another moved that way a few days ago and then came back down, so for ease of access it would be nice if this one did the same!! Of course the data would probably be more interesting if it didn't.
There has been quite a lot of rain all over the delta, including at HQ (my home base), which has made for wet and muddy roads and even worse off-road. I am going to go out next weekend to get stuck in various ways and be shown how to get out again in the most efficient way, which I am sorry to say is likely to be very useful to me over the next couple of years.
